Srinagar, September 28, (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has produced a so-called charge-sheet in a Delhi court against the party Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah
The DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that in Delhi, whether it was judiciary or media, no one was ready to listen to Shabbir Shah’s arguments based on reality.
He said the motive behind maligning the image of Shabbir Ahmad Shah by Indian media, the registering of false cases against him in Delhi court, and subsequently subjecting him to physical and mental torture, is nothing but to create a wedge between the people of Kashmir and the pro-freedom leadership.
He said Shabbir Ahmad Shah belongs to a well-established business family of south Kashmir. He inherited a good amount of wealth from his family to live a prosperous life. Even today, one can find dozens of such persons in Islamabad district who can testify how much land and property Shabbir Ahmad Shah’s grandfather possessed. Shah Sahib’s father Ghulam Mohammad Shah after retiring as a Block Development Officer (BDO) took charge of family business and till his martyrdom on April 4, 1989 lived with Shabbir Ahmad Shah.
The only truth in the ED’s charge-sheet is that Shabbir Ahmad Shah considers Kashmir as a disputed territory and is politically active seeking its resolution. He has been fighting politically since 1968 and is steadfast on his mission. Throughout his political career, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has stressed on dialogue to resolve disputes and has continuously championed for such ideology.
The spokesman said that as India failed to suppress the freedom sentiments of the people of Kashmir, it is now harassing the resistance leadership including Shabbir Ahmad Shah by registering false cases.
It is worth to mention here that Shabbir Ahmad Shah is facing such a worst situation in Tihar jail which doesn’t suit a political person of his calibre even though he has been declared as a “Prisoner of Conscience” by the Amnesty International, so the prison is nothing new to him.
“We believe that each and every allegation against Shabbir Ahmad Shah will prove false but it takes a lot of time under the Indian judicial system and during this period, Shah Sahib will have to pass through extreme difficult phase. We believe that truth will eventually triumph and Shabir Ahmad Shah will honourably return home.
