Srinagar, September 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) expressing concern over the plight of political prisoners has demanded their immediate release.
The JI in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian police had detained chief spokesman of the Jamaat, Advocate Zahid Ali, on September 26 for addressing a mass gathering in Urr Charsoo area of Pulwama on 18th August, 2016.
It said that the police had become habitual of implicating innocent Kashmiris in fabricated cases. “Jamaat refutes such allegations leveled against its spokesperson and terms it concocted and baseless. Zahid Ali neither visited the area nor did he address any rally in Kashmir on the said date,” it added.
