Sopore shuts on second day against killing of Qayoom Najar

Srinagar September 28, (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, shutdown was observed on second consecutive day, today, in Sopore area of Baramulla district to mourn the killing of Kashmiri youth, Qayoom Najar by Indian troops in Uri on Tuesday.

All shops and other business establishments remained closed while traffic was thin on roads.

Najar was killed by Indian troops in Uri area of the district on Tuesday. Authorities closed all schools and colleges in Sopore to prevent protests against Najar’s killing. Continue reading

APHC-AJK stages protest demon before UN office in Islamabad

Islamabad, September 28 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) Chapter staged a protest demonstration before the United Nations office, today.

IOK pellet victims suffer from memory loss

Srinagar, September 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, after facing loss of vision, many victims blinded by the pellets are now grappling with loss of memory which could take an ugly turn if the treatment is ignored, doctors and experts have warned.

The doctors said that the pellet victims could face permanent memory loss if they don’t turn up for the treatment, which includes effective counseling and cognitive therapies. Continue reading

Delhi court extends custody of 8 Hurriyat leaders

New Delhi, September 28 (KMS): Courts in New Delhi have extended the judicial custody of senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah till October 13 and seven other Hurriyat leaders till October 17.

The Enforcement Directorate had filed the charge-sheet against these leaders, arrested on fake charges on September 23.

Additional Sessions Judge Sidharth Sharma gave copies of final report to Shabbir Ahmad Shah and set October 13 as the next date of hearing when it will also scrutinize the report and other documents filed along with it. Continue reading
