Clashes erupt in Islamabad town of IOK

Srinagar, September 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has sought the intervention by the United Nations for a peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, lingering before the World Body for the past seven decades.

Syed Ali Gilani in a letter to UN Secretary General, António Guterres, said that Jammu and Kashmir was waiting for the final dispensation in accordance with the agreed UN Resolutions. He reiterated the demand to appoint a War Crime Tribunal for Jammu and Kashmir to identify the culprits of human rights abuses in the occupied territory. He said that the indiscriminate use of lethal weapons, pellet guns, bullets, pawa shells to contain public rallies had become a routine matter in the territory. He urged the UN Chief to prevail upon the Indian government to give free access to global human rights watchdogs to take an on spot stock of the situation with regard to human rights abuses in Kashmir. IFJ condemns continued detention of Kashmiri photojournalist

New Delhi, September 13 (KMS): The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) expressing serious concern over the continued detention of freelance Kashmiri photojournalist Kamran Yusuf by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has termed the move by the Indian agency an attempt to intimidate the journalist community.

Yusuf was held in Kashmir on September 4 for reaching spots, uploading pictures and photos of Kashmiri victims of Indian forces. Continue reading

Speakers at seminar call for tripartite talks on Kashmir

Jammu, September 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, speakers at a seminar called for settlement of the Kashmir dispute through tripartite talks between Pakistan, India and true representatives of Kashmiri people.

Srinagar, September 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that the restrictions on political activities in the territory and disallowing resistance leaders to court arrest at National Investigation Agency headquarters in New Delhi signify a moral victory for resistance leadership.

Troops kill two youth during 18-hour operation in Shopian

Srinagar, September 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops during their 18-hour long military operation martyred two youth in Shopian district.

The two youth identified as Tariq Ahmad Butt and Altaf Ahmad, were martyred during a siege and search operation in Barabugh area of the district. The troops killed Tariq Ahmad Butt, last night, while Altaf Ahmad early this morning. Continue reading

Thousands participate in funeral of youth in IOK

Srinagar, September 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of a mujahid commander, Shahid Ahmad Sheikh in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district.

People from different areas including Rafiabad, Qaziabad and Zainageer marched towards the Kachloo area of Rafiabad where Sheikh was laid to rest amid pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans. Shahid Ahmad Sheikh was martyred by Indian troops during a siege and search operation in Reban area of Sopore, yesterday. CRPF vehicle crashes old man to death in IOK

Srinagar, September 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an elderly man was crushed to death after being hit by a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) vehicle in Khayam area in Srinagar, last night.

Sanaullah Mir, 50, was walking in Khayam area when a CRPF vehicle hit him injuring him critically. He was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. Continue reading
