Clashes between protesters and troops in Kokernag

Srinagar, August 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, clashes erupted in south Kashmir’s Kokernag area of Islamabad district over the visit of so-called minister for Public Works, Nayeem Akhtar, to the town.

Witnesses said that as soon as Nayeem Akhtar left the area, local youth and students of Degree College, Kokernag, came on the road and started raising anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. Indian troops and police personnel used brute force to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel.

Akhter had gone to inaugurate a road in the area.

Protest against scrapping of Article 35A, killing in IOK

Srinagar, August 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership staged a demonstration in Srinagar, today, to protest against India’s attempts to scrap Article 35A of Indian Constitution and killing of a student in a fake encounter by Indian troops.

Scores of Hurriyat leaders and activists staged a protest march in Maisuma area of the city, today. The protesters were carrying banners with messages like “Any meddling with state subject law means attack on our identity. Kashmiris will not accept any such move”. Continue reading

IOK lawyers protest against attempts to repeal Article 35A

Srinagar, August 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, lawyers held forceful protests in Srinagar and other district headquarters against India’s plans to scrap Article 35A of Indian Constitution to change the Muslim majority of the territory into minority.

Dozens of lawyers held a protest outside District Court Complex at Mominabad in Batamaloo area of in Srinagar to register protest against India’s nefarious designs. Continue reading
