Article 35A: IOK traders to follow JRL’s protest calendar

Srinagar, August 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, extending their support to the protest calendar issued by the joint resistance leadership to safeguard Article 35A, traders and their Jammu and Kashmir Coordination Committee (JKCC) have said that they are ready to face bullets for protection of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Kashmir Traders Manufacturers Federation and the Kashmir Economic Alliance in a statement in Srinagar said, “It will be all-out war if the Indian government scraps Article 35A.” Continue reading

IOK traders extend support to strike call for tomorrow

Srinagar, August 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) and Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) have extended support to the strike call given by joint resistance leadership against India’s plans to abrogate Article 35A of Indian Constitution which confers special rights and privileges to permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

The KTMF President, Muhammad Yaseen Khan in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the traders were ready to face bullets in order to protect the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. “It will be all out war if Indian government tinkers with Article 35A. Srinagar, July 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people staged forceful demonstrations in Beerwah town of Badgam district, today, against the killing of a youth, Tanveer Ahmed Wani, by Indian Army.

Tanveer Ahmed Wani was killed when a patrolling party of Indian Army opened fire on protesting youth in the town on Friday.

Resistance leaders denounce killing of youth by troops

Srinagar, July 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Beerwah town and its adjoining areas in Budgam district, today, to protest against the killing of a youth in Indian Army’s firing.

The youth, Tanveer Ahmad Wani, a young tailor, was shot dead by army personnel during protests in Beerwah town, yesterday. All shops and other business establishments remained closed in the town, Khag and Aripanthan areas, today, to mourn the killing of the youth. The occupation authorities had imposed strict restrictions and sealed all entry and exit points of Beerwah town to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the killing.

Complete strike was also observed in Zirpora area of Bijbehara – the home town of puppet Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti – against the desecration of a mosque and other atrocities by Indian forces. The forces’ personnel had damaged windowpanes of Shahi Masjid in the area, last evening. Continue reading

Srinagar, July 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have imposed curfew and restrictions in Srinagar and other parts of the territory to prevent a sit-in protest outside the UN office in Srinagar, today.

The joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for complete shutdown and a peaceful sit-in protest outside the UN office at Sonawar in Srinagar against the surge in killings by Indian forces in the territory. The objective of the protest is to urge the United Nations to ask India to stop the massacre of people in Kashmir and to remind the World Body to fulfill its commitments made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Kakapora shuts on third consecutive day against killings

Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Kakapora area of Pulwama district on the third consecutive day, today, against the killing of youth by Indian troops.

The troops killed three youth during a siege and search operation in the area on Thursday. A civilian, Tauseef Ahmad Wani, was martyred when the troops opened fire on the demonstrators who were protesting against the operation. Continue reading

Srinagar, June 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown marked by anti-India demonstrations will be held across the Kashmir Valley, tomorrow, against the killing of a student, Aadil Ahmed Magray, by Indian troops in Shopian on Tuesday.

Call for the strike and demonstrations has been given by the Joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik. The demonstrations are also aimed at registering protest against the biased reporting of Indian news channels on Kashmir and the raids of India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) on the residences of pro-freedom leaders, activists and businessmen.
